Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Services

What are some of the services you offer in your dental practice and what problems can you fix?

I run a general practice office where we offer a range of services. While I'm not a surgeon, I often perform tooth extractions. However, in certain situations, I refer these to specialists. I don't place implants, but I do restore them after they've been placed by a specialist. I'm also responsible for making up the treatment plan to fix the whole mouth.

One of my favorite things to do is cosmetic work. It's amazing to see how a new smile can transform a person's demeanor. We also perform root canals and other treatments that contribute to overall oral health. The focus is always on getting people healthy. We address anything related to periodontal health - essentially, anything that can make you healthier. I believe in building a strong foundation. Your gums and bones are the foundation of your oral health, and they need to be solid. Once that's in place, we can build anything on top of it.

What if a patient is missing bone and needs implants or other procedures that require bone?

When patients have lost bone, usually due to having a tooth pulled a long time ago, it makes the process a bit more complex. This is why it's important to address such issues immediately. There might be alternatives we can explore - such as doing a bridge if there's a tooth behind the missing one. More complex procedures like bone grafts and sinus lifts are also options.

We have a group of surgeons we refer to for these procedures. It's not as daunting as it may sound. With modern dentistry, there's so much we can do. However, my advice would be not to wait too long. If you lose a tooth, get it fixed right away. The sooner we can address it, the easier the process and the better the results. The process of bone loss can take years, so it's best not to wait that long before seeking help.
