With veneers, we can quickly make remarkable improvements in a patient’s smile.
A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain, shaped to cover the front and tip of a patient’s tooth. Veneers can be used to correct all these cosmetic problems:
- A deeply discolored tooth that will not respond to whitening, such as one darkened by tetracycline or injury
- A chipped or broken tooth
- Teeth with too much space between them
- Teeth that are too short
- Poorly-shaped teeth
- Moderately misaligned teeth
In just a few weeks, all these problems can be eliminated. A patient is left with an even, attractive and bright smile. We can cover a single damaged or discolored tooth or improve all the teeth that show when our patient smiles.

How Are Veneers and Crowns Different?
A veneer covers just the front and tip of a tooth. A crown covers the entire tooth down to the gum line. Crowns are more often used when a tooth has been weakened by decay or injury or a root canal has been done. Crowns provide protection, but they also improve the appearance of a tooth. By contrast, a veneer is primarily a cosmetic improvement.
