When teeth are lost, we often recommend replacement using dental implants. This method can be used to replace a single tooth that has been lost or it can be used to anchor a bridge which replaces more than one tooth.

The Single Implant

Dr. Anisimova works with trusted, expert oral surgeons to provide patients with dental implant replacements for single teeth. To start the process, an oral surgeon will precisely place the slender titanium implant in the bone where the tooth is missing. The bone will be allowed to heal and fully bond with the implant.

When healing is complete, Dr. Anisimova will create a replacement tooth, referred to as a crown. This crown will be fixed to the implant. Now, her patient has a tooth that looks and functions just like a natural tooth.

An Implant-Supported Bridge

An implant-supported bridge is like a conventional dental bridge except that it is permanently attached to the jaw with implants. To accomplish this, multiple implants are placed in the area—typically, one at either end of the gap.

Dr. Anisimova then prepares the durable ceramic bridge to replace the missing teeth. This bridge will be attached to the implants.

The benefit of an implant-supported bridge is that the adjacent healthy teeth do not need to be reshaped to have a crown placed over them as happens with a conventional bridge
